The family’s wine production dates back to the time of grandfather Fernando, who planted most of our vineyards and instilled in us a taste for the vine and wine sector. For many years the farm sold grapes for port wine and only produced Douro wine for its own consumption.

In 2002 a new stage in the life of this house began with the production and sale of Douro DOC wines. Em nossa mente apenas um objetivo: a produção de vinhos de alta qualidade – ESMERO, o que de bom o Douro tem para oferecer!

We believe that old vines have a potential that cannot be neglected and that should be valued. It is in this added value that we think the difference lies: a batch of different varieties with productions balanced with the vine, associated with a careful winemaking capable of expressing the high potential of the raw material.

The company’s range of wines is based on two brands with very distinct profiles: a classic style based on the old vine for ESMERO, while MIMO presents greater youth and lightness illustrated on the label by a young graft.
