Located on the slopes of the River Tedo, which flows into the Douro, facing south-east and at an altitude of 700 meters, in the middle of the Távora-Varosa region
História
Família Hehn
The Hehn Family, for many years linked to the Távora-Varosa Region, the quintessential region of sparkling wines in Portugal. From here and from our German origins is born the passion for sparkling wines.
Its wines are created at Quinta da Seara, São Cosmado, Armamar. Located on the slopes of the River Tedo, which flows into the Douro, facing southeast and at an altitude of 700 meters, this property is a unique terroir for the production of white and sparkling wines.
The farm has been in the family for several generations, with Marcos Hehn Pinto da Silva, the current owner, winemaker and winemaker, and the fourth generation.
The first harvest they bottled was in 2005 and today, after 13 years, we know that wines from these highlands south of the Douro, in the Távora-Varosa region, have an incredible aging potential. They use the traditional varieties of the region, white and red, of which we highlight Cerceal Branco and Gouveio.
