“We believe that our wines exhibit greater authenticity and character, reflecting their “terroir”, as they mirror the way we understand and relate to nature.
– Luís Gomes
História
Giz
The Giz project is based on the restoration of centenary old vines, full of indigenous varieties, where Baga and Maria Gomes predominate, planted in poor and rocky soils. The raw material here is scarce but extremely precious. The limestone soils provide the construction of unique and unmistakable wines, while favoring the retention of natural acidity and transmitting freshness and minerality. These characteristics contribute to the authenticity, uniqueness and complexity of the resulting wines.
The entire wine-growing process is developed in a sustainable way, with the utmost commitment to respecting the soil and nature, promoting biodiversity. Weeds are controlled by a mechanical process, avoiding the use of herbicides.
