Herdade do Cebolal
Since 1890, our family project has passed from generation to generation, being currently managed by the 4th and 5th generation: Isabel and her son Luís Lufinha Mota Capitão. Knowledge, transmitted over generations, strengthened by values, ethics, responsibility and respect for man and nature, gives rise to this heritage that identifies us as a family. We are wine artisans, respecting the authenticity of our terroir, which translates into wines with personality, respect for the environment and low chemical intervention.”
Herdade do Cebolal consists of 85 hectares of which 20 are vines and 65 are forest. We are working on the regeneration/restructuring of our heritage, in which the first 7 hectares have already been converted into Syntropic Agriculture.
Our vineyard is composed of autochthonous and international varieties, which have been planted over the last few decades, the oldest being around 80 years old. Our viticulture practices have been revised over the past few years due to environmental issues emerging from global warming.
