Indício wine was born from a chance meeting between two young people (one of them not so much) enthusiastic about the pleasure of “perceiving” the wine: Alexandre Botelho (Noble &Murat) and Marco Lourenço (Blind by Tasting) agreed to exchange their experiences of deep knowledge of the wine. Douro, family tradition and tasting habits, to pick up old vines that, due to their inestimable heritage value, are disappearing or being wasted in production scales that prevent a genuine understanding of their value.
The first harvest was in 2017, under the supervision of winemaker Luís Leocádio, at Quinta dos Lagares, with whom they learned to improve some of the ideas they wanted to work with. This resulted in the first three Indications (by definition “What remains or remains of what has disappeared or passed or happened”), a red, a white and a rosé. Since then, only the two of them have been working, using traditional winemaking techniques and knowledge, with little intervention in their wines.
From 2018 onwards, they incorporated a new wine, Garganta Funda, which emerged from a pleasant conversation with Oficina Arara, also from Porto, authors of the labels and the entire graphic image of the wines, and with whom he has maintained a close relationship since the beginning. (d)start. The idea will always be more to make drinking than to provoke, even if one leads to the other They use stainless steel vats, widely used French oak barrels and plastic molds to tread the grapes, without temperature control. Whites always do partial tanning. It’s not always possible to keep the same vines from year to year, so you never know for sure what’s to come. That’s where we go.
