Quinta da Ponte Pedrinha
Quinta da Ponte Pedrinha is located in the municipality of Gouveia, in the demarcated region of Dão, in the sub-region of Serra da Estrela.
It has been owned by the Mendes Oliva family since the end of the 18th century, being in perfect harmony with the Beira landscape.
In the mid-1900s, new vines were planted and a new winery built by the current owner’s father. Thirty years later, a major restructuring of the vineyard was carried out, increasing its area.
The winemaking technology gave rise to yet another winery, contributing to enhance the quality that Quinta da Ponte Pedrinha wines have to offer, combining tradition with innovation.
The current 50 hectares of replanted vines plus 7 hectares of 50-year-old old vines are deeply rooted and connected to the land and lives of the people who lived and live here, offering exquisitely beautiful details to the surrounding landscape and illustrating the long tradition that is lived in Quinta da Ponte Pedrinha.
The work in the vineyard respects not only each strain but also the sustainability of the vineyards and their surroundings. The vine is the fundamental basis, with the main objective always being present: To obtain exceptional wines in each vintage, minimizing as much as possible the subsequent intervention in the winery. From here, authentic wines are born, respecting well the characteristics of this region, giving proof of their quality associated with a classic profile well identified by its uniqueness with personality, character, elegance, freshness and smoothness.
