Family viticulture often requires us to work without hours and without rest.

História

Solo argilo-calcário com grande quantidade de fósseis e clima húmido

Vale da Capucha is a small vineyard converted by the Marques family at the end of the last decade. Born in the logic of the enormous productivity destined to the “barrel” wine market in Lisbon and Africa, they decided to take another path and be reborn in viticulture. Instead of red wine, they turned to white wine, which confused a few of their peers from the designation of origin, Torres Vedras, who were very used to working red wine. In the 13 ha they planted the Portuguese white varieties that could best express the place (9 km from the sea, fossilized clay-limestone) and… simply… a few… simply… a few… red wine varieties.

In the vineyard and in the winery, they encourage the indigenous flora to ferment their musts, with human intervention being elementary. Acting in this way, conservatively, they manage to express what most constrains them there: the sea and its multiple forms of life.
