Casa do Capitão-mor Alvarinho 2019

This alvarinho comes from the Casa do Capitão-Mor (Quinta da Boavista), Mazedo, Monção. The soil is of granitic origin, calc-alkaline, covered with rolled pebbles. It is located about 900m from the Minho River, at an average altitude of 60 meters, on practically flat ground.

The grapes certified as “Integrated Production” are harvested and transported in small boxes to the winery and de-stemmed, one part being subjected to skin maceration for eight hours at low temperature, the other part being immediately pressed. After decanting, the must is fermented, leaving the wine on the fine lees with “batonnage” until preparation for bottling.

Elegant wine with freshness, unctuous and persistent finish.
