Quinta das Bágeiras Avô Fausto White 2020 was born from grapes of the Maria Gomes variety, coming from a vineyard whose production was very low and harvested relatively early, so that the high natural acidity gave rise to an aging white. Fermented in used French oak barrels. A light lipstick was made and aged in the barrels until it was completely clear, in a natural way. Bottled without filtering or gluing.
Note the more floral profile of the variety along with a very light smoke. In the mouth it is surprising, being full-bodied, fresh and with a long aftertaste.
An impressive wine from Maria Gomes, very different from the overwhelming majority of other wines from this variety, known as Fernão Pires.
