Dona Berta Tinto Cão Reserva 2018

18.49

Dona Berta Tinto Cão Reserva 2018 is a wine that was made this year specifically because the grapes matured excellently, resulting in a wine with the unmistakable character of the variety that deserved to be bottled on its own.

Bottling took place about a year and a half after the harvest and the stabilization of the wine was limited to a slight fining followed by filtration. It has not stabilized due to the cold and may, therefore, form a slight precipitate over time, which in no way impairs the quality of the wine.

At first the aroma is dominated by fruit, then vegetable notes begin to appear with wood very well involved, in a set of great elegance. In the mouth you can see why it is a wine with a gastronomic profile, with persistence, acidity and very powerful but civilized tannins, which allows you to accompany long convivial meals, so much to the taste of the Portuguese people.

While young, it is especially suitable for strong dishes with intense flavors, such as rojões, fried codfish or oven-roasted pork neck. With time in the bottle, it gains complexity and the tannins round out, becoming the ideal companion for the leg of lamb or kid in the oven.
