Santiago winery family is now in its fourth generation and its Quinta de Santiago – Boutique Winery project reveals an intense connection and a strong attachment to the land.

História

Quinta de Santiago

For about 100 years, Quinta de Santiago had as its main activity the production of wine, olive oil, lupine, cereals, milk, meat, fruit, etc., for self-consumption.

In 2009, from the determination and passion for wines of her children and grandchildren and the then owner, the 86-year-old grandmother “Mariazinha”, the Quinta de Santiago “boutique winery” project was born.

They are proud to maintain and replicate the way their ancestors work, valuing their terroir, respecting nature and reaping from the empirical learning of the past, a legacy for future generations – a cultural continuum that passes from generations to generations.

All the grapes used in Quinta de Santiago wines come from its 7.5 ha of vines planted in clayey loam soil between 70 and 100 meters in altitude and located in a very particular microclimate on the alluvial terraces of the municipality of Monção.
