Dona Berta Tinta Barroca Reserve Red 2019

17.80

The Dona Berta Tinta Barroca Reserva Tinto 2019 was created with the idea of showcasing the character of one of the finest Portuguese grape varieties – Tinta Barroca – in the terroir of Freixo de Numão, characterized by an altitude between 400 and 600 meters in the Douro Superior region. This allows for slow ripening and late harvests.

This wine is different from other red wines from Dona Berta, aligning with new trends that prioritize delicacy, elegance, and the aromatic profile of the grape variety. The aroma is rich, attractive, and dominated by delicate yet expressive aromatic notes, characteristic of wines with gastronomic appeal. On the palate, it stands out for its lightness, richness of flavor, and lively acidity, which result in a surprising finish.

It is worth following its evolution in the bottle. As it has not been artificially cold-stabilized, a slight sediment may form, which in no way affects the quality of the wine.

It is particularly suitable for baked fish, fish stews, braised or stewed poultry, and rabbit hunter-style. It will also be an excellent accompaniment to traditional Portuguese snacks such as "pica-pau" (spicy beef dish), roasted chorizo, "pezinhos de coentrada" (coriander-flavored pork trotters), or fried mackerel.
