Quinta das Bágeiras Garrafeira Tinto 2017 was born from grapes from very old vines (aged over 90 years). They are fermented for 5 to 8 days in an open mill and without destemming (the berries are not removed from the bunch). Afterwards, a reassembly is made with wooden masses, several times a day, until they reach the correct intensity. The wine then finishes fermentation in old wooden barrels. While resting, it is cleaned and aged in the same vats for about 18 months. It is bottled without any gluing or filtering. All these processes are done manually. It is a wine that is only produced in years of exceptional quality.

Wine of great longevity, although you can drink it now, as long as it is accompanied by red meat and decanted at least an hour in advance. Of course it will be better with another 5 years of custody. It is also expected that it can be kept for at least 10 years, with a positive evolution.
